Hearing aid or BAHA trial and fitting
Customised solutions
We are here to help you find the best solution for your hearing loss within your budget. This means we are totally independent of any one brand of hearing aid and do not work on commission. All hearing aids are fitted using evidence-based protocols (Real Ear Measurements). This includes trial, fitting and any ongoing fine-tuning to ensure your hearing needs are met based on global best-practice standards.
Bone Anchored Hearing Aids (BAHA) can be trialed as indicated.
Cochlear implant services
For when hearing aids are not enough
Based on global best-practice standards, a cochlear implant candidacy appointment includes assessment of outer ear (otoscopy), middle ear (tympanometry) and inner ear function (comprehensive audiometry and speech perception testing) and recommendation based on the most up-to-date candidacy criteria. A comprehensive report will also be provided to you and your medical team (GP and ENT surgeon).
If you are deemed a suitable candidate, follow-up appointments will include activation of your cochlear implant ("switch-on") and a series of "acute" appointments to optimise the signal to enable auditory training to take place. This will maximise your cochlear implant outcome and help you adjust to the sound.
Regular ongoing follow-up appointments are scheduled to monitor your progress with the cochlear implant and for fine-tuning as necessary.
Bimodal solutions are also offered where appropriate, as well as assistive listening devices.
